A global estate.
Seven AWS regions.
AWS foundations and workload migration across seven regions and three continents.
Infrastructure present across 3 continents, including approximately 100 database VMs within the 600-VM estate.
Enterprise foundations and workload migration across a distributed estate. Six months of delivery, with architecture and operations treated as one program.

The migration program covered 100 workloads within a 600-VM estate. Approximately 100 VMs supported databases, across multiple database types. Infrastructure spanned seven AWS regions and three continents. Delivery ran over six months, bringing foundations, applications and database work into one program.
The work connected enterprise landing zones, a global network and an AWS estate spanning hundreds of accounts. Account structure, identity, network boundaries and repeatable infrastructure needed to support the migration program and the operating model that followed.
Modernisation centred on Amazon EKS. Moving from VMs involved more than packaging applications into containers: the platform needed delivery tooling, runtime configuration, observability and clear operational ownership. Open-source and commercial Kubernetes tools were selected around the needs of the estate.
Approximately 100 database VMs sat within the estate, across multiple database types. Database migration required its own dependency analysis and migration approach, connected to the application work rather than treated as a generic infrastructure move.
Application and infrastructure observability, cost optimisation and operational ownership were part of the wider cloud work. The estate also supported AI workloads, from custom models on EC2 to managed capabilities through Amazon Bedrock.
The delivered scope brought enterprise landing zones, global networking, application modernisation and database migration into one six-month program. Its scale called for coordinated decisions across infrastructure, applications, databases and the people running them.
A working conversation about the opportunity, the constraints and a useful first step.
